Shirley's Marinated Steak

6 Servings


2 pounds sirloin tip steaks, all visible fat removed
12 ounces light beers
4 scallions, minced
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons sherry
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
dash hot pepper oil
1 tablespoon grated ginger
2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Place steak in an oblong glass baking pan. Set aside.
Combine all other ingredients in small bowl. Pour over steak and turn to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight, turning meat occasionally. Preheat grill. Grill marinated meat over hot coals.
