Cooked Salad Dressing

2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon paprika
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar, or cider vinegar
1/4 cup margarine
2/3 cup skim milk, or low-fat buttermilk

In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch, sugar, mustard and paprika. Add water and cook over low heat, stirring until thickened. Stir in vinegar and margarine. Gradually add milk or buttermilk. Stir until creamy.
Cool, cover and refrigerate.
