Tomato Sauce

1 cup diced onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
28 ounces plum tomatoes
1 1/2 ounces tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil

Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan over medium high heat.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer about 20 minutes.
